Heather Berner

Church School Coordinator

We would like to introduce our newest staff member here at CCB.  Heather Berner accepted the position of Church School Coordinator and began her work with us in the middle of August.  As the Church School Coordinator Heather organizes and oversees our church school program, including the new LAB curriculum as well as the 3 & 4-year-old class and the 7th & 8th grade class.  She keeps in touch with families and our whole church community using the website (www.uccb.org), as well as the Crossways and notes in the bulletin.  Heather also works with the CE committee on recruitment of volunteer teachers, so please consider saying “yes” if she asks you to help teach our wonderful children and youth in our new rotational church school curriculum.

You may have seen Heather around at CCB, as she and her husband, Greg, have been members since December of 2005.  They arrived here to worship with us in the summer of 2005 along with their two sons, Teddy and Toby.  Since that time Heather has been an usher on Sunday mornings and a member of the Fellowship Committee.  In her spare time Heather enjoys gardening and is a member of the Garden Club of Brookfield and the Center School PTO.  The Berners also love to snow ski!  

In her application Heather wrote the following words in regard to working with children, “Their little minds are so inquisitive and full of imagination.  I am so excited about the new Sunday School format and the difference it will make in helping the children truly learn from the stories in the Bible.”
