Church School Programs

Church School

We encourage all children to participate in our church school program, and visiting children are always welcome.  Our lively and growing church school program is attended by over 100 children in classes ranging from nursery care through middle school.  We offer classes during both services throughout the school year and during the second service in the summer months.

We are very fortunate to be blessed with many wonderful volunteer teachers and teen shepherds/helpers who share their faith with the children in our program.  Our church school program is overseen by our Church School Coordinator, Heather Berner.

Church School Curriculum

This year we will continue a curriculum that we started 2 years ago called Learning About the Bible or LAB.  Children in Kindergarten through Sixth grade will rotate through workshops like Noah’s Art, Tent Tales Storytelling, Creation Station Science, Loaves & Fishes Café, Joyful Games, Bible on Broadway, and the Heavenly Web Computer Room.  They will focus on some of the major stories in the Bible, learning them through and through with these multi-sensory experiences.

The three and four-year-old children will spend time learning about the Bible using a curriculum focused on storytelling and interactive experiences like songs, games, and crafts.  Our 7th and 8th graders will be preparing for the next step in their faith journeys through Bible Study, focusing on the issues of their lives from a Biblical perspective, outreach projects, and spending time in worship as well.

We also offer Children's Chapel on the first Sunday of every month in Fellowship Hall. There are 2 Sundays this year when we will not have Children's Chapel; Epiphany Sunday and Easter Sunday. Parents are asked to drop the children off in Fellowship Hall at 10:30am before proceeding up to the Meetinghouse. The children will be brought to their Church School classes by their shepherds after Chapel is over.

The church school wing is connected to the sanctuary by way of a paging system in case of emergencies.
